The MRA Committee was asked by Bromley Council for suggestions for amenity improvements to be funded by capital grants.
A selection of items was drawn up, one of which was a paved perimeter path round Foxes Field to assist less able residents’ appreciation of the area.
The Council took up our suggestion and there is good progress being made in the construction.
Did you know that Foxy’s field used ti have a fence and groundsman. He had a habit of hiding behind trees to catch boys intruders and was nicknamed Foxy.
Thus it came to be known (first among boys) as Foxy’s field and had nothing to do with foxes.
I’m old enough to know – I am 85 and it was in my ‘ers’!
