Bromley’s Draft Local Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination

The London Borough of Bromley submitted its Draft Local Plan to the Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government for independent examination on 11th August 2017, in accordance with Section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning Local Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

The Planning Inspectorate have appointed an Inspector who will consider whether Bromley’s Draft Local Plan has been prepared in compliance with relevant legal requirements and whether it is “sound” based on the criteria set out in para. 20 of the National Planning Policy Framework, The examination is a continuous process beginning with the submission of the Draft Local Plan and ending with the receipt of the final Inspector’s report.  The Council is then required to adopt the Plan so it can be used for determining planning applications.

The Draft Local Plan and all supporting documents (including a clarification letter of June 25 from the Greater London Authority) are available on the Council’s examination web pages at www.bromley.gov.uk/localplan. Hard copies of the Draft Local Plan, the Policies Maps, the Sustainability Appraisal, the Reg. 22(c) Consultation Statement and a summary of representations are available to view at any of the Borough’s libraries, at the Upper Norwood Joint Library, at Bromley’s Civic Centre reception, at the Cotmandene Community Centre and at the Mottingham Community and Learning Shop during their normal opening hours.
